Every month, millions of beneficiaries ask the same question: on what day will my Social Security payment arrive? The date depends on your birth day and your benefit type, and it moves when it lands on a weekend or a federal holiday. Tell us your details and we’ll give you your next exact payment dates.
When do I get paid by Social Security?
Informational calendar according to the rules of the Social Security Administration (SSA). The exact date of your deposit appears in your my Social Security account and in the SSA's letters.
How payment dates are calculated
Social Security pays retirement, SSDI and survivor benefits on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of each month based on the beneficiary’s birth day (1-10, 11-20 and 21-31). People who started receiving benefits before May 1997, or who receive both Social Security and SSI, are paid on the 3rd. SSI is paid on the 1st. When a payment date falls on a weekend or federal holiday, the deposit is made on the previous business day, which is why some months the money arrives early.
